This series extends the exploration of fragmented selfhood, reflection and female subjectivity begun in Fragmented Self. Set within a derelict Art Nouveau industrial warehouse in Lisbon’s historic Marvila district, the works combine photography and digital collage, layering images through transparency to create painterly compositions. Broken reflections and overlapping fragments of the self explore the instability of identity, the mediation of self-image and the tension between visibility and concealment, while echoing the layered histories and decaying grandeur of the surrounding architecture.
